Lydon Johnson's war? Part 2: From escalation to negotiation
Article Abstract:
A description of Johnson administration's policy towards the war in Vietnam based on published American documents, covering the period from July 1965 to March 1968 is presented. McNamara's successor Clark Clifford, Secretary of State Dean Rusk and White House aid Harry McPherson were largely responsible for persuading President Johnson to accept the fact that the war could not continue on the same basis as before and that de-escalation was a better option.

Chinese strategies in a US-hegemonic global order: Accommodating and hedging
Article Abstract:
An outline of Chinese elite perspectives on the current global order affecting China's policies towards the United States, and how they influence China's regional and global policies more broadly is presented. It states that Chinese leaders have accepted to operate in unipolar order and have chosen not to stick out for negotiating positions that the United States would see as seriously detrimental to its interests.
