North Korea as an alienated state
Article Abstract:
United States and the rest of Asia should establish economic links with North Korea to do away with its alienated state and enable reunification with South Korea ultimately. The current conception of North Korea as irrational and aggressive derives from its alienation from the international arena in economic and political fields. Resumption of links with other countries will force Korea to implement its policies in line with the international norms and rules. This will regulate military conflict and lead to the path of reunification.

The sources and limits of Sino-Japanese tensions
Article Abstract:
Recent anti-Japanese disturbances in China reveal that the two countries are locked in a difficult relationship, with heavy historical baggage. Japan is not likely to re-emerge as a great power or discontinue its alliance with the United States, and therefore Japan-China tensions simmer on, with the risk that a crisis over Taiwan or some other issue would plunge the East Asian giants into a cold war.
