On the duration of civil war
Article Abstract:
The duration of civil war is studied by relating it to the two alternative models of conflict and culls testable hypotheses from the case study literature on civil war. The results show that the duration of conflict is systematically related both to structural conditions prevailing prior to conflict and to circumstances during conflict.

Why do some civil wars last so much longer than others?
Article Abstract:
Different regularities were explained with the help of developing a game model. It focused on the puzzle of what prevents negotiated settlements to long running, destructive civil wars for which conflicting military expectation is implausible explanation.

The dynamics of civil war duration and outcome
Article Abstract:
A study is made to test the hypotheses, multinomial logit and competing risk survival analysis of the civil war outcomes. The model helped to examine each of the outcomes and its respective duration dynamics.
