Poverty, agency and resistance in the future of international law: An African perspective
Article Abstract:
Three questions that are likely to promote effective well-being of African peoples are dealt with in an effort to picture what seems to lie in store for most African peoples in the future of international law. An overall assessment of future international law's likely postures with regard to reducing poverty in African societies, to recognize and promote local agency and to permit and meaningfully internalize African resistance to non-favorable global rules is provided.

Overcoming apartheid's legacy: the ascendancy of neoliberalism in South Africa's anti-poverty strategy
Article Abstract:
This article examines the attempts of the post-apartheid South African government at ending poverty. The author maintains the government's neoliberal approach, focusing on economic growth and redistribution, has been the anti-poverty strategy. However, the author argues that this is very high risk in that there are no other examples of market-led solutions to combat extreme poverty.
