Russia, the US and regional conflict in Eurasia
Article Abstract:
US policy-makers seem unable or unwilling to recognize that there should be limits to the influence of the US on the Eurasian continent. This situation is a key cause of tension between the US and Russia, especially in relation to US involvement in conflicts close to Russia's borders. Russia is being treated very insensitively, as reflected in the exclusion of Russians from the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Normandy invasion in 1994. The US must now take a more understanding approach to regional difficulties within and around Russia.

Nuclear weapons and the 'new world order': early warning from Asia?
Article Abstract:
The May 1998 nuclear tests conducted by India provide insights on the future of international security.
