Chinese nationalism, US policy and Asian security

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning manifestations of Chinese nationalism triggered by the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1999 are discussed. Particular attention is given to the efforts made by the Chinese government to contain nationalistic demonstrations in order to protect foreign relations policy.

The Koreas' new century

Article Abstract:

The summit between North and South Korea is discussed, with focus on its repercussions on the North Korean international politics. It is emphasized that the harmonization of political relations between North and South Korea will irreversibly open North Korea to the world.

Lebanon's malaise

Lebanon's subordinate relationship with Syria is discussed, with focus on Lebanon's poor economy and uncertain political stand. The government of Rafiq Hariri is examined, and the difficulties it inherited from the previous government are highlighted.
