Is major war obsolete?
Article Abstract:
Major war is on the road to obsolescence as evidenced by the lack of direct battles between warring factions in the most recent war, the Cold War. This trend is attributed to the increase in the costs of fighting a major war and the decline in the rewards of winning a war. However, a major war still remains within the realm of possibility with Russia and China considered the most likely countries to start one.
