U.S. geostrategy in Central Asia: a Kazakh perspective
Article Abstract:
The United States wished to strengthen its position in Central Asia, specially the former Soviet Union and the 9/11 terrorist attacks in U.S. gave it the required opportunity to set up base in Kazakhstan, the center of Central Asia as also in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Kazakhstan is one of the main strategic partners of the United States in Central Asia as an alternative source of energy resources while the U.S. foreign policy in Eurasia will help Kazakhstan achieve political, legal reform and a better economy.

South Asia is at the forefront of the United States' foreign policy agenda and it is hoped that the wise employment of democracy, economics, education etc. would enhance the region's stability. The implementation of the US president's freedom agenda in the countries of South Asia and the use of assistance funding to achieve the policy goals of the US was highlighted.
