'Where are the Arabs?' (Fouad Ajami's book 'The Dream Palace of the Arabs: A Generation's Odyssey')
Article Abstract:
Fouad Ajami's book 'The Dream Palace of the Arabs: A Generation's Odyssey' recounts the dreams and fears of Middle East scholars shown in their odysseys which reveal the history of the modern Arab world. One Arab intellectual, Khalil Hawi, was a Lebanese poet who was strongly attracted by the ideal of Arab solidarity. Hawi, who committed suicide in 1982, often wondered why an Arab world committed to Arab unity would easily permit Israel to conduct its invasion unchecked. The poet's fate dramatically portrays the disappointment of other Arab intellectuals committed to the Arab world.

Market rises in the East
Article Abstract:
The emerging economies in Far East Asia are providing a good growth opportunity for the leisure industry, with fitness centres becoming increasingly popular as disposable income levels are rising. The health club market in Asia is not expected to mirror that of the West, however, with Koreans and Japanese working longer hours and the commuting distances travelled comparatively large. Cultural barriers and family commitments will also lead to a variation in the development of the health club market. The emerging market is analysed.

Who's a journalist? - I
Article Abstract:
It is increasingly important to define who a journalist really is at a time when multiple sources of information are emerging. A journalist is somebody who makes it possible to distinguish between those who provide reliable information and those who are merely supplying gossip, rumour and false information. A journalist must also be totally committed to an ethical canon based on fairness, service, balance and restraint, regardless of how he or she supplies information.
