Why Palestinians and Israelis are not ready for peace
Article Abstract:
The failure of the Oslo process and the increased violence since September 2000 has caused the unbridgeable gap between the Israelis and Palestinians. Thus, the Bush administration has chosen to keep lower expectations until conditions improve, and substitute conflict management for conflict resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli dispute.

The quartet, which comprises of the United States, the United Nations, the European Union and Russia, has put forward a 'Road Map' in order to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The success or failure of the plan lies in the degree of third-party involvement in advancing the implementation of the agreement and verifying it.

The CIA as Middle East peace broker?
Article Abstract:
The role-played by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in solving the tensions between the Israeli and the Palestinian Authority is discussed. The collapse of the Oslo process left the CIA as the only active actor in the growing cycle of violence.
