Iran has signed an additional protocol (AP) to its nuclear safeguards agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The drivers of IranEs nuclear weapons ambition and the international response are discussed concluding that the attention is shifted for the international community in seeking to secure a non-nuclear Iran.

National defense budgets for all European nations have steadily decreased since the mid-1980s and the resultant weakness of European military forces became evident during the 1999 Kosovo campaign. The most viable option is for European nations to progressively integrate their resources, providing significant short-term advantages.
