The workplace on the verge of the 21st century
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the social impact of advanced technologies in the workplace for the 21st century. Current advances in workplace monitoring technologies include monitoring of e-mail and Internet activity, widespread use of video surveillance, background checks, more sophisticated drug testing, among others. The advent of these technologies has raised a number of social issues, including privacy, fairness, illnesses related to stress and the quality of working life.

Participation in the company of HBK-Spaarbank
Article Abstract:
Financial participation in the Belgian savings bank HBK-Spaarbank is described in terms of origin, principles and evolution. The cooperative company Personnel Cooperative HBK, which represents all employees of HBK-Spaarbank, is the embodiment of this participation. The cooperative company, founded in 1979 has grown to become a very important stakeholder, owning 22.5% of the capital of the credit institution.
