APEC: seven years of progress in trade liberalisation in the Asia Pacific?
Article Abstract:
The Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) was founded in response to trends of regionalism and the economic interdependence of the Asia Pacific region. These reasons are still in force today if the Asia Pacific region wants to develop free trade and become an actor in the World Trade Organization. However, individual action plans and overall trade agreements need to be enhanced to improve APEC's credibility and reputation internationally.

Killing her softly: intimate abuse and the violence of state intervention
Article Abstract:
The author argues that the policy of mandatory prosecution in cases of intimate abuse is misguided and harmful because it replicates abusive relationships; that is, the victim is powerless. A model of participatory prosecution is offered which provides victims with a sense of respect and control.
