Agency worker was "employee" for specific assignment
Article Abstract:
A 1997 UK Court of Appeal decision ruled temporary employees can be accorded employee status with employment agencies as a result of specific assignments. Particular assignments can carry full employee status, according to the court, even if a temporary employee's general agreement with an agency specified otherwise. The terms of the general employment agreement would be considered the basis for determining employee status, and interpreted according to the context of a particular assignment.

What to Avoid In a Productivity Improvement Effort
Article Abstract:
What not to do must be considered as part of a productivity improvement plan. There must be commitment from the top, but it must not be seen as an edict. There needs to be a clear rationale for change. The organization must be gauged to be ready to start a plan. Emphasis on organizational style should be given over a packaged productivity program. Avoid adopting techniques that do not fit the organization.
