Coming together. A review of contemporary approaches to social accounting, auditing and reporting in non-profit organisations
Article Abstract:
Non-profit organizations face the same concerns as their for-profit counterparts in that they value their public image. Consumers and grass-roots campaigners have increasingly called for standards by which to judge the social responsiveness of these organizations. Big groups are hampered by their wide geographic spread while smaller ones are detained by their meager resources. To overcome these difficulties, the standards to be set should rank stakeholders in accordance to their input to the groups' central mission and the depth of their involvement with the group.

Ethical work climate dimensions in a not-for-profit organization: an empirical study
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to study the concepts of organizational climate and culture in the not-for-profit sector. The Ethical Work Climate Questionnaire, which was developed for assessing the perception of ethical orientation by combining the theoretical constructs of cognitive moral development, locus of analysis and ethical theory, was used. Results suggest new insights into the perceptions of ethical climate in a not-for-profit sector which are dispersed between those focused upon the societal/cosmopolitan realm and those focused upon the individual.

Business ethics: practical proposals for organisations
Article Abstract:
Business ethics as an applied, practical discipline, should provide assistance to managers, especially in making decisions. The development of an internal ethical climate was examined via an actual case example. Senior managers play an important role in establishing and strengthening ethical organizations. While an ethical code of conduct contributes to the cultivation of ethical practices, other elements such as commitment of managers and two-sided ethical policies also contribute to the achievement of ethical awareness in organization.
