Participation versus social exclusion
Article Abstract:
Technological progress results in a higher degree of social exclusion in free enterprise economies because disadvantaged people are unable to adjust their skills to the new requirements of the labor market. This argues for the adoption of a policy, grounded on moral principles, that redistributes the fruits of progress based not only on individual contributions to production but on the relative needs of the individuals.
