Hanging pictures: photographic theory and the framing of images of execution
Article Abstract:
Courts must address their reluctance to integrating photographic theory into claims made in court based on photographic, film and videotape evidence. Rulings implicitly addressing the narrative potential of images are often decided inconsistently because the courts do not consider the ways that meaning must be imputed by the presenters of the images. Courts should expand the extent to which additional testimony is allowed to provide images with context and meaning. Images of executions and other photographic evidence should be admitted as evidence more readily.

The place of ethics in investigative interviewing by police officers
Article Abstract:
The place of ethics in investigative interviewing of suspects by police officers has been examined. Truth-finding and procedural fairness may be seen as incompatible. Training officers so that they can acquire skills involved in this activity is a matter of concern. One of the elements of professionalism is considered to be self-regulation by reference to a code of ethics. The police force itself must take responsibility for this aspect of its work. Incremental education is likely the best way to promote ethics among police officers.
