Honeywell chases 15 camera makers after Minolta win
Article Abstract:
In Feb 1992 Honeywell Inc won a patent infringement suit against Minolta Camera Co in which they maintained that Minolta's Maxxum camera incorporated patents for the Honeywell autofocus lens and its device that activates a flash when natural light is insufficient. Observers say the case is part of a new trend of litigating patent cases in front of a jury. Honeywell is now attempting to persuade other alleged infringers to settle rather than risk litigation.
