Love's labor laws: novel ways to deal with office romances after the thrill is gone
Article Abstract:
Sexual harassment cases increased from 6883 in 1991 to 15,589 in 1997 according to statistics from the EEOC. Lawyers began to draft consensual sex agreements that both the client and the client's partner sign, contracting their amorous intentions and promising not to bring a harassment suit if the affection ends. Many businesses decided to purchase employment practices liability coverage (EPL) as a method to defray unwanted but perhaps inevitable sexual harassment charges.

Why are Iowa's babies dying?
Article Abstract:
Critics of former Iowa state medical examiner Thomas Bennett charge him with concluding too many women caused their babies' death with shaken baby syndrome. The theory behind shaken baby syndrome has been around since the 1970s and has always been controversial. Critics charge its existence has not yet been proven, but law enforcement has been quick to use it as an explanation for a seriously abused child could die without any external signs of physical injury.
