Narrowing parent corporation liability under CERCLA for the twenty-first century

The author discusses issues involved in the potential attachment of liability to parent corporations for the acts of their subsidiaries relating to clean ups of hazardous waste sites under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA). The author focuses upon the US Supreme Court 1998 case United States v. Bestfoods.
