Article Abstract:
Vincent J. Apruzzese will become chairman of the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section in Aug 1992. Apruzzese is a management attorney with the firm of Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro and Murphy, member of the ABA House of Delegates and former member of the ABA Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Labor Relations Committee of the US Chamber of Commerce and the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Advisory Board and a former President of the New Jersey State Bar Assn. The Labor and Employment Law Section is one of the ABA's largest, with 16,000 members.

Jaime Ramon is to be the new Director of the Labor Department's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. (OFCCP) The OFCCP's mission is to prevent employment discrimination by employers holding public contracts. Before starting his current position, Ramon was general counsel to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. He started practicing law at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and later practiced labor law at Epstein, Becker and Green.

He founded the Human Rights Caucus and is chairman of the Employment and Housing Subcommittee. The main issues before this committee concern worker safety, child labor and industrial relations.
