The lawyer types; how your personality affects your practice
Article Abstract:
Attorneys can enhance their communication skills and productivity by understanding their own personality type, appreciating differences in people, and adjusting their communication according to the type of person they are dealing with. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can be a useful tool for gaining information about personality types. This test measures preferred ways of using mental energy, for example, preferences for sensing as opposed to intuition and thinking rather than feeling. Feelers might be more emotional and need more positive reinforcement about their work.

All this and fired, too; a journey into the land of termination agreements
Article Abstract:
An attorney reflects on his experience of being fired. His initial emotion on receiving word from the firm's financial manager was not anger or pain but pity for the messenger who had to bear this grim news. To him, one of the hardest parts of being fired was telling friends and family. His other major feeling once matters had progressed further was resentment at what he perceived as the firm's failure to treat him with the respect he merited during the progress and at their evasiveness.
