Travel industry woos biz flyers; catch up on work in a suite spot

Business travelers can choose from several special air and hotel deals in the coming months. United Airlines and American Airlines offer 25,000 bonus miles to business-class fliers to Heathrow in London from Chicago, New York, and (on AA) Boston, through Dec 31. British Airways has a comparable deal that includes trips to the Continent. Various hotels have offered to lock in room rates regardless of currency fluctuations, and several offer bonus miles in frequent-flier programs. Westin's Guest Office concept is explored.

Will Japan's drug business catch up? Industry faces stiff competition from mega-merged, highly innovative foreign companies
Article Abstract:
Issues are discussed regarding the need for structural change in the Japanese pharmacutical industry to deal with the competition facing it internationally. Fiscal constraints imposed by the government and economic reasons for the need to innovate in an industry not accustomed to nurturing drug research are among the topics discussed.
