Subscriptions for direct broadcast satellite and cable television in the US: An empirical analysis
Article Abstract:
Factors affecting DBS (direct broadcast satellite) penetration, relative to cable penetration, in the US subscription television market is identified. It was found that the basic cable services regulation, which expired in 1999, might have unintentionally enhanced DBS penetration in noncompetitive cable franchise areas as cable providers charged high prices.

Effects of capacity constraint on US-African telephone traffic
Article Abstract:
Research describing the effects of constraint on capacity of international telephone calls between Africa and the US is presented. In particular the negative effects of capacity constraint on duration and volume of calls is examined.
