Ralph Hinshelwood Daly, the Honorary Secretary of the Society in the Sultanate of Oman, saved the Arabian Oryx from extinction and reintroduced it into the wild. During his tenure, he dealt with every aspect of the environment, establishing contacts with the World Wildlife Fund and the international Union for the Conservation of Nature, which enabled Oman to become a major player in biodiversity conservation.

It is believed that if more people had a science fiction reader's mentality, many of the world's problems could be solved sooner. If this is so, it makes sense to get science fiction into the hands of as many people as possible, especially the youth.
