The all too wild west
Article Abstract:
A man describes his disappointment at a Montana vacation which he took with his wife and two children. THe aura of the wonderful wooded, stream-filled West was in reality overlaid with the trapping of contemporary America. It was cold. Motels looked the same as back east and the man became homesick.

Indonesia: East Timorese ask Britain for asylum
Article Abstract:
Indonesia occupied East Timor in 1975 after the Portuguese colonists left the island. The petitioners to the British government asking for asylum cites human rights abuse by Indonesian soldiers as the reason asylum is needed. Mar 1, 1995 an Indonesian panel found six soldiers guilty of murder.

G. Harry Stine: 1928-1997

The late G. Harry Stine wrote most the Alternative View columns of Analog magazine. A science fiction contributor and the author of articles on science fact, Stine wrote for Analog between 1979 and 1997. He died of a heart attack on Nov 2, 1997.
