Gunman kills former El Diario-La Prensa editor
Article Abstract:
Manuel de Dios Unanue, former editor of El Diario-La Prensa, the largest Spanish language daily newspaper in the US, was shot to death in a New York restaurant on Mar 11, 1992. No arrest has been made and the theories as to why de Dios was killed are numerous. De Dios crusaded against drug traffickers in the US and abroad, had testified before Congress about the murder of pro-independence activists in Puerto Rico and had debts, all of which created possible motives for numerous suspects to have him killed.

Reporter arrested at rapper's funeral; photographer beaten by gang members
Article Abstract:
Reporters in New York and California have been subjected to police harassment and assault by members of the public. In Brooklyn, a free lance reporter covering the funeral of Notorious B.I.G. was arrested for disorderly conduct despite evidence that she was simply walking in the procession. A Sacramento photographer was severely beaten by a gang for taking photographs of a child. Police suspect that the gang thought the photographer inadvertently captured a drug deal on film.
