Article Abstract:

The St James Citizens for Jobs and the Environment (SJCJE), together with Greenpeace and other environmental organizations, are lobbying against the proposed building of a Shintech polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Convent, LA. SJCJE believes that constructing a PVC plant in their neighborhood will make the air they breathe unsafe because the plant will produce a by-product called dioxin. According to EPA, exposure to this chemical may cause cancer, reproductive diseases and immune suppression.

The skiing resorts of Bareges in the French Pyrenees, Zermatt in Switzerland and Aspen, Colorado are recommended for potential skiing holiday makers. Bareges is an economical resort offering around 120 kilometres of pistes; while Zermatt is a more luxurious resort aimed at skiers with some experience. Other recommendations include La Plagne, Val d'Isere, Coucheval and Les Arcs in France; Snowmass and Beckenridge in the US; and St Anton and Westendorf in Austria.

A futuristic vision of a culture wherein unwed mothers can be paid in putting their offspring up for adoption. The payment is given to give the unwed mothers a second chance at a productive life.
