Unmanned minehunting system goes to testing
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin Corp. is currently testing the Remote Minehunting System (RMS), an unmanned, semi-submersible vehicle, capable of being launched and remotely controlled from forward-deployed ships before delivery to the Navy. The testing of the RMS will validate system requirements including semi-autonomous operations, minehunting, vehicle speed and endurance, sonar contact localization and reacquisition and electrical-optical identification of mine-like objects before delivery to the USS Momsen, an Arleigh Burke class destroyer.
