Sub Builders seek multi year buy, but costs rise

Information regarding the lobbying efforts by submarine manufacturers for the commitment by congress to approve Navy contracts for 7 future submarines, rather than allowing the Navy to purchase each sub 1 at a time. This contract would allow the companies manufacturing the subs to operate on economies of scale, which may save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
