Surviving being a survivor, or, whatever became of what's her name?
Article Abstract:
Boylan, the first of the named plaintiffs in the Boylan versus Times case filed by the employees of New York Times against its gender discriminatory practices, fought the various obstacles she faced during her career. The early 1970s witnessed discriminatory practices in the work place, with women getting lower wages and denied promotion opportunities. Boylan versus Times was the first in a series of suits filed against discriminatory management practices and provided the springboard for later generations to fight gender discrimination.
