Gas turbine design ignites race for efficient naval power packs
Article Abstract:
Diesel and other fuel turbines are slowly being replaced by the gas turbine in naval vessels because of its efficiency to reach full power in minutes and lower fuel consumption. Various combinations like gas and diesel, gas and electric propulsion, and gas and steam are being tried for bettedr performance and fuel efficiency.
