Edward Humes' book 'No Matter How Loud I Shout: A Year in the Life of Juvenile Court' is a narrative nonfiction that explores the everyday drama that unfolds in the Los Angeles Juvenile Court. It is the result of a year of investigative reporting and sheds light into the efforts of probation officers to save juvenile delinquents and of the daily battle between hope and hopelessness among these teenagers. 'No Matter How Loud I Shout' is the 1997 Investigative Reporters & Editors Award Winner in the Book Category.
