A mission statement to revive Canada
Article Abstract:
Canada needs to pick leaders in the fall 1993 elections who will foster entrepreneurship and economic development. Technological and social changes will require a new system of government. To stay competitive, Canada should encourage privatization and eliminate costly social programs.

When famous families lose their touch
Article Abstract:
Eaton's of Canada Ltd filed for bankruptcy on Mar 31, 1997. The Eaton family was one of 32 families that controlled one-third of Canada's corporate assets in 1986. Since that time, 13 of those families have had financial problems and lost some or all of their empires.

Challenging Quebec's language law

The Parti Quebecois plans to debate new additions to Bill 101 in Apr 1996, that, if enacted, would further restrict the use of the English language in Quebec. The proposals would affect signage and teaching in English at the community college level.
