Article Abstract:

Thousands of Hispanics, both legal residents from other states and freshly arrived illegal immigrants from south of the border, have rushed to New Orleans to take construction jobs and are likely to fundamentally remake the city's demographic and cultural landscape. According to the 2000 Census, before Katrina only 3% of New Orleanians were Hispanic and 67 percent African-American, however, after evacuation, many AfricanAmericans may have left for good.

Tracking terror

Article Abstract:

Terrorist bombings have prompted the Clinton administration to capture two suspects in the Aug 7, 1998 US Embassy bombing in Kenya. Arab radicals and critics of the US denounced the US retaliatory raid on a pharmaceutical plant in Sudan. US officials claim the plant had been financed in part by Osama bin Laden.

The US Army's Special Forces fighting the ground war against the Taliban in Afghanistan include the Army Rangers, Special Operations forces, and Green Berets. The Rangers train in the dark, using night-vision goggles, and carrying 100-pound packs on their backs.
