It is the duty of sports reporters to report these transgressions. Making athletes role models is a mistake.

In defense of affirmative action

Opposition to affirmative action is growing in the US, due in large part to politically motivated arguments by far-right conservatives that it discriminates against white males. White men confused about the issue should consider what life would be like if they were black.
