ATI no longer everyone's darling
Article Abstract:
ATI Technologies Inc of Markham, Ontario, seems to have lost some of its appeal with investors with the emergence of doubts on whether it can maintain its leading role in the computer graphics equipment market. The doubts, which has caused a C$2.30 drop in the company's share prices on Aug 31, 1999, was the result of an announcement by Dell Computer Corp that it will cease using ATI products for its OptiPlex computers. ATI has tried to downplay the situation by pointing out that the Optiplex business accounts for under 5% of its total revenues.
