Another GM Canada plant halts production
Article Abstract:
General Motors of Canada's Oshawa No. 2 car assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario, has decided to stop production of Buick Century, Chevrolet Lumina and Regal models due to shortages in supply for parts brought by the two strikes at General Motor Corp.'s plants in Michigan. The stoppage marks the second plant of General Motors Canada to halt production after Oshawa No. 1, which assembles Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Lumina models. Both facilities get engine cradles from Flint Metal Center in Flint, MI, whose workers went on strike on June 5, 1998.
