Apple stems losses with Imac
Article Abstract:
Apple Computer Inc.'s interim CEO, Steve Jobs, made another offensive with the introduction of Imac, a flashy, low-cost version of the Macintosh computer, in its bid to return to profitability. The new product, encased in a translucent teal-colored cover and priced at $1,299, is the company's response to low-cost computers and is targeted to the consumer and education markets. Credit Suisse analyst Charles Wolf was stunned by the new product, which he said is twice as powerful as Wintel or Windows-based consumer personal computers. Jimmy Johnson of A.G. Edwards & Sons said that the product will renew interest in the Cupertino, CA-based company.
