Art saves the book - but not the film
Article Abstract:
The 1998 film version of Vladimir Nabokov's controversial novel 'Lolita' retains none of the book's humor or desperate sense of tragedy. There is a movement in the Australian parliament to ban the movie, but its sexual content is minimal compared to the book. Society should instead look at the sexually suggestive entertainment it considers appropriate for young girls.
