Not such a Sterling idea
Article Abstract:
Sterling Forest, a nature-filled woodland 60 miles north of New York City, is slated for development beginning in 1994. The area is owned by a Swedish insurance company which wants to build a model city on 25% of the property. The area is on a list of sites designated for conservation by the state of New York, but there is no money for its purchase. Many area politicians see development of part of the area as the only way to save other parts. Conservationists disagree, claiming any development would upset the entire ecosystem.
