At issue: should gun owners be prosecuted if children injure themselves or others with the adult's gun?
Article Abstract:
Different groups have conflicting views on the methods that should be used to prevent children from committing gun violence. The Handgun Control Inc supports the enactment of laws that will punish adults who own the guns used by children to commit violent acts. The National Rifle Assn, however, believes that the best way to stop shootings by youngsters is by teaching both adults and children the right way of handling and storing weapons. It condemns the use of legal punishment to discipline adults or parents who unintentionally leave their weapons within the reach of children.

At issue: does the Second Amendment guarantee an individual right to keep and bear arms?
Article Abstract:
The Second Amendment has been variously interpreted, although not tested in the US Supreme Court by 1998. Supporters of firearm access quote legal scholars who feel the Second Amendment protects the rights of individuals, not states, to use firearms for self-defense. However, former Chief Justice Warren Burger felt the Second Amendment was used fraudulently by special interest groups such as the National Rifle Association. Federal courts have consistently interpreted the Second Amendment as applying to states, not individuals.

Should child abuse be prosecuted decades after an alleged incident occurred?
Article Abstract:
Some professionals believe child abuse can be prosecuted decades later to make sure the victims' rights are protected and criminals are punished. They believe repressed memory is a real occurrence that can surface after amnesia. Children often fear the perpetrator or blame themselves for the abuse. Other professionals think that therapists can create false memories in the minds of susceptible patients. They assert that suggestions can be integrated into a person's memory and alter it.
