Are drug companies charging too much?
Article Abstract:
Drug companies are accused of overcharging which has led to unjustly large profit margin. Current prices are unaffordable to many consumers, especially the elderly. The companies' claim that these profits go to research and development of new drugs is misleading as advertising and lobbying receive bigger budgets. Drug companies state that promotions are essential to the proper use and administration of new drugs. They also claim that prescription drugs have helped keep down national health care costs.

Article Abstract:
US economic assistance to Russia is unique because it is the first and perhaps the only time that the US would be assisting a great bastion of communism in its efforts at transition into a market economy. Having no precedents to learn from, the US aid policy towards Russia has mainly emphasized funding for privatization efforts. However, US economic assistance efforts have yet to recognize a basic reality in Russia, which is that the Russians do not have practical experience in private ownership.
