Analysts skeptical about Eaton's finding a buyer
Article Abstract:
T Eaton Co Ltd's efforts to find a buyer may be for nought, said analysts. Observers said the struggling Canadian retailer has been unofficially looking for a buyer for months even though it only formally announced its search on May 18, 1999. A source said a group of retailers that includes Sears Canada Inc and Macy's is eyeing several Eaton's stores, but is waiting until the company goes under to get a lower price.
