Boom in palm computers not likely to subside

The market for palmtop computers expanded by more than 60% in 1998, outpacing the entire PC industry which grew by 15%, according to San Jose, CA-based Dataquest Inc. The market, still far from being saturated, is projected to further expand four-fold over the next four years as more people abandon paper-based schedulers and calendars in favor of their digital counterparts.

The Internet, with more than 150 million users worldwide, is a huge market, such that even a small fraction adds up to a lot of people. Accountant finds software design to be taxing work

Toronto-based Cantax, a division of CCH Canadian Ltd., has developed a tax preparation software that an incorporates electronic filing system. The software has been developed in collaboration with Revenue Canada, a provincial government and another federal department. Cantax is projecting to sell more than 85,0-00 copies of its software in 1999.
