Holocaust survivors launch suit against Steyr
Article Abstract:
Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, the Austrian auto assembly company that Magna International Inc. of Canada purchased in early 1998, has been named one of the defendants in a class-action suit filed in New York by survivors of the Nazi Holocaust. The suit claims Steyr-Daimler, together with another Austrian company Voest AG and the Nazis, used, enslaved and exploited Jews to work for their operations during the Second World War. The court filing stated the class-action suit could involve tens of thousands of people once heirs of the survivors are put into consideration.

Recall bugs the Beetle
Article Abstract:
Volkswagen of America Inc., an automobile manufacturer, intends to conduct a recall of all of its Beetle model cars. The product recall, which is expected to affect 8,500 units of the vehicle sold in the US as well as 1,600 units marketed in Canada, was spurred by the faulty wires in the Beetle car's engine compartment. The new Volkswagen Beetle, which received the highest crash-test rating by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, has been in demand since its reintroduction in the market in March 1998.
