Class warfare: bracing for deep cuts, Ontario students and teachers are locking arms and fighting back

A coalition of parents, college students, and public school teachers has organized in opposition to Ontario Minister of Education John Snobelen's proposed 9% FY 1996-97 budget cut for provincial education programs. The group staged a Jan 1996 protest in which nearly 40,000 people took part.

Miller time for Molson: the largest brewer gives up Canadian control
Article Abstract:
Miller Brewing paid $349 million for a 20% share of Molson Canadian. The purchase gives non-Canadian companies a majority ownership of Molson, but also greater marketing opportunities for the brewer. Terms of the agreement are presented.
