Com Dev orders director to quit after reviewing his stock selloff

Com Dev International Ltd., a satellite and phone company based in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, has ordered William Fitzgerald, a director in the company to resign after he sold 99,700 shares worth C$2.6 million two weeks before the stock dropped due to poor earnings. The company also told Fitzgerald, who was president of the firm's space group until October 1997, to provide compensation for the losses of the buyers of his shares. According to reports from the Ontario Securities Commission, the director sold one-third of his shares on May 25 and 26, 1998, when ten days after, the firm would report profit just below 2 cents a share.

Perplexed with the complexity of today's networks, customers are demanding that their future PC or Internet appliance be able to work seamlessly across the entire network.
