A demonstration led by the Ontario Public Employees Union (OPSEC) erupted into one of the most violent in Ontario history. OPSEC was demonstrating in support of better severance pay packages civil servants soon to be laid off. The Ontario Provincial Police arrived to protect Tory MPs from the crowd.

'Thelma and Louise:' police step up their search for two fugitive women
Article Abstract:
US and Canadian authorities are searching for Turford and Stevens on robbery and kidnapping charges. The two women allegedly used a telephone dating service in Houston, TX, to rob men of $340,000 in cash and goods. They then jumped bail in May 1995, and were last seen in the Toronto area.
