LeVar Burton became famous as Kunta Kinte in the television program Roots, but five years later his career prospects were numbered. That put him in a funk, but he realized how to push on. Soon he had work again hosting a children's reading show and directing television programs. Related information on Burton's view that reading is essential to building self-esteem is included.
